A BRUTAL opening term in which Horsham kicked nine goals to zero has led the Demons to an emphatic victory over Nhill on Saturday.

The Tigers lifted the tempo and remained competitive from that point onwards, but eventually wentdown 23.18 (156) to 9.5 (59).

Demons co-coach Brad Hartigan said it was important his side made a quick start.

“We knew that they’re a good side and they’re confident,” he said.

“We had a focus going into the game to lift the pressure and not let them get their outside run.”

Former coach Jordyn Burke kicked seven goals for the Demons in his return after transferring from Bannockburn.

Nhill coach Alan Bennett saidthere was not much his side could do to quell theonslaught.

“They were just very good in the first quarter,” he said.

“We showed a little bit but they were very, very good.”

Twenty-one inside50s to three in the opening stanza proved the difference.

“I was proud of our guys on Saturday,” Bennett said.
