Lang lifts Saints to tough triumph over brave Bloods

A THRILLING one-goal win has Koroit within striking range of the topthree.

The Saints made the most of a home courtadvantage to upset a strongTerang Mortlake line-up 39-38.

The Bloods took a two goal lead into the final quarter but it wasn’t enough as Koroit proved unstoppable to come home with a flourish and steal the win.

Teagan Lang shot 23 goals for the Saintsin a best-on-court performance at goal attack.

Koroit co-coach Kasey Owen said her team played an inspired last quarter.

“We threw a lot of balls away early that we shouldn’t have which put us behind,” Owensaid.

“But in the last quarter everyone really stood up, our voice and pressure was amazing and the work rate was 100 per cent.

“It was a real team effort although Teagan Lang did stand out, she was brilliant and Megan Russell made a lot of important intercepts at goal keeper.”

Terang Mortlake coach Aimee Arundell said the Bloods werean on the losing end of a tough battle.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game, Koroit have been playing some good netball,” Arundell said.

“It was really tight and we turned the ball over a a few times at the end which cost us.To Koroit’s credit they put a lot of pressure on andthat did cause us to lose the ball a few times in the last quarter.”
