TEN years ago Pimpinio celebrated a premiership at Laharum’s expense, but the result was starkly different when the sides met at Pimpinio Recreation Reserve on Saturday.

The Mountain Men were in no mood to humour the Tigers as they hosted a 10-year premiership reunion, dismantling their opponents 31.22 (208) to 3.4 (22).

Laharum’sJoe Harrison continued to stamp himself as one of the best young players in the competition, booting a career-best nine goals playing on a wing and athalf-forward.

Small forward Daniel Griffiths was taken out of his comfort zone and asked to play as a defender, but excelled at half-back.

Captain Sam Winfield was another standout for the visitors.

Pimpinio was led by Steve Thomas, with support from Shanan Baker who played in the Tigers’ 2005 premiership.

Tex Hernon and Dylan Bushby joined Thomas as the Tigers’ only goal-kickers for the day.

The win marked the third consecutive week Laharum topped 200 points.

Assistant coach Hamish Roberts said the team was pleased with the performance, but was looking forward to a tougher match against Kalkee on Saturday.

“There were no real negatives for us which is good, but we’re pretty pumped about playing Kalkee,” he said.
