Police were called to a house on Johnston Street in Boulder around 10.50pm after calls about a large and noisy house party.

Officers declared it out of control with up to 200 people at the address, and even had to close the nearby Goldfields Highway to enable police to safely move on the crowd.

A group of partygoers then gathered in nearby bushland and threw rocks and bottles at officers and police vehicles.

A male officer received minor injuries after being assaulted while a female officer was hit by rocks. Both were taken to hospital.

Projectiles also damaged a police vehicle.

A 17-year-old Boulder boy was arrested for disorderly conduct while a 21 year-old Banksia Gove man will appear in Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on July 27, charged with assault and obstruction. */]]>
